Chuck Johnson

Chuck Johnson is a composer and musician residing in Oakland, CA. He approaches his work with an ear towards the faults and instabilities that reveal latent beauty, and with a focus on guitar, experimental electronics, and "folk minimalist" composition. In recent years Johnson has released solo guitar recordings for Three Lobed and Strange Attractors Audio House and has appeared on the "Beyond Berkeley Guitar" and "Imaginational Anthem" compilations on Tompkins Square. Johnson’s recent credits as a composer for film and television include the HBO documentary Private Violence and the PBS series A Chef’s Life. In 2009, he received an MFA in Electronic Music and Intermedia Art from Mills College.
